Suvereto Boar Festival
Suvereto is a classic medieval village whose origins date back to before the year 1000. Situated on the slopes of the hills overlooking the Costa degli Etruschi, it is a true jewel, rich in history and art, set in the green valley of the River Cornia. Thick cork, chestnut and oak trees along with the Mediterranean scrub and olive plantations dot the landscape. The region is alive with wineries, and farm-holiday resorts where you can try local products and traditional dishes.
The Festival of the Boar is the main festival of Suvereto based on food, culture and the local folklore. The boar is the main character of the festival and from this animal comes the name “Sagra del Cinghiale” in English “The Festival of the boar”. Experience this exuberant and gastronomic event under the guidance of a Suvereto local, and be immersed in the culture of an authentic Tuscan village like a real insider.
