From Oscar nominees, a former President of Israel, Lord Mayors and government ministers, to James Joyce’s Ulysses and the Irish Rebellion, the Jewish Community has played and continues to play an influential and integral role in the fabric of Dublin.The Jewish story begins in the mid 17th century, when early Jewish immigrants came to Dublin after re-admittance to the Kingdom of Britain and Ireland by Oliver Cromwell.

Your expert guide will lead you on a fascinating tour of ‘Jewish Dublin’. Visit the area known as ‘Little Jerusalem’ where the Jewish refugees fleeing persecution in Tsarist Russia, settled. See the former locations of this community’s small synagogues, the first Jewish National School and the childhood home of Chaim Herzog, who later became president of Israel. Visit the Jewish Museum and go for coffee with your Guide at the Bretzel Bakery to further chat about the impact of the Jewish Community in Dublin.
