Cannaregio: Art & Conservation
Let's get a bit off the beaten path to explore the Cannaregio neighborhood in Venice. Historically and still today a place of artists, we'll visit a print maker, a master artisan who creates the most life-like glass flora and fauna with a technique called “lamp work”, and a workshop where local Venetian artists gather to take all kinds of art classes and collaborate on exhibitions (and located in the artist Tintoretto's workshop, no less!). We'll talk about how Venice was built and is being conserved today.
We'll end our walk in the Jewish Ghetto where we'll meet a local couple who are producing kosher, organic wine, craft beers, and Venetian sweets for a tasting in one of the most historic locations in this famous neighborhood.
